Our approach
What we're here to do, where we're heading, and the values behind every session.
Our mission
To provide private, bespoke psychotherapy, tailored to each person we work with: their goals, their pace, their schedule and their setting. So that people who perform and lead under pressure, and those who simply expect the very best, can do their best work and live well.
Our vision
To be Melbourne's most trusted private therapy practice for people with public, private and high-pressure lives, known for discretion, access and lasting change.
Our values
Melissa's credibility is never traded for growth. Every decision is made with integrity, ethically and within the PACFA code, and you'll be referred on if you need something outside her scope.
Nothing about you leaves the room. No waiting rooms, no names, no stories.
When you reach out, Melissa answers. Access is the promise, so the practice is never overbooked.
A deliberately small caseload. Full attention, never a slot in a schedule.
You'll hear what you need to hear, not just what you want to hear, always with care.
Therapeutic approaches
Evidence-informed approaches, chosen and combined around you. Select any approach to learn more.
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing. A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements or other bilateral stimulation while you recall a difficult memory, helping the brain process it so it feels less distressing.
A therapy that uses a fixed point in your field of vision to access and process trauma, stress and emotional blocks held below conscious thought.
Care focused on understanding and healing the effects of traumatic experiences, at a pace that keeps you feeling safe and in control.
Helps you make room for difficult thoughts and feelings rather than fight them, and commit to actions guided by what matters most to you.
A practical, structured approach that helps you notice and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour.
Builds skills in mindfulness, managing intense emotions, tolerating distress and navigating relationships, balancing acceptance with change.
Sees the mind as made up of different “parts”, and helps you understand and care for them from a calm, compassionate core Self.
Focuses on strengths, meaning and wellbeing, building what is going well alongside working through what is hard.
Training attention on the present moment with openness and without judgement, to ease stress and respond rather than react.
Works with the body as well as the mind, using awareness of physical sensations to release stress and trauma held in the body.
Support through loss of any kind, giving space to grieve, make sense of what has changed and find a way forward.
A collaborative conversation style that helps you explore mixed feelings about change and strengthen your own reasons and motivation to make it.
Developed by Carl Rogers, it puts you at the centre: a warm, non-judgemental relationship that trusts your capacity to understand yourself and grow, at your own pace.
A framework for understanding how the nervous system responds to safety and threat, used to help you notice your stress responses and return to a sense of calm.
